Driver of the month for the month of November is Michael “Mack” McNair. Mike has been with J.B. hunt for a little over 7 years where he came to our company as an incumbent driver from Webster out of C&S in York, PA. With such a smooth transition Mike then wanted to venture outside of groceries and do something new within the company. With that being said, Mr. Mcnair, then transitioned to Gerdau Metals in York, PA where he became the accounts only certified driver trainer. With Mike being the account leader behind the wheel he aided Gerdau to several safety achievements such as 1 Million injury free miles which took the account 3 years and 2 years collision free. Not to mention the account was awarded account of the Year in its class 2017.
Now we fast forward to Mr. McNair, joining Unilever in early
2019 due to Gerdau’s closure. This bittersweet inheritance of one of J.B. Hunts
top drivers was the spark the Unilever Account needed. As we doubled the fleet, we found Mike being
our accounts second certified driver trainer. He went right to work practicing
the safety culture we preached at Unilever. Mike is a natural born leader who
earned the respect of his peers by doing and not just saying. McNair has
mentored several young drivers at the account who find themselves having
someone to go to who truly cares about their success as well as the accounts.
Mack has definitely trailblazed the safety efforts at Unilever as the account
has gone 6 Million accident free miles as well as 365 days preventable accident
free here in 2020. Mr. McNair is closing in on a half a million preventable
accident free and has also gone almost 1000 days critical event free.
Did I also mention that Mack is a veteran who served for our
fine country by way of the U.S. Navy? Mr. McNair has also received the nomination
in which he accepted in being a Wreaths Across America driver for this year’s
celebration.
Congratulations to you!!! Uncle Pud
