Celso Leon has been one of the most
prolific JB Hunt drivers at the C&S Newburgh account since the transition
back in April of 2013. In that 4.5 year span, Celso has not had a preventable
accident as he takes difficult deliveries week after week. Along with going to
the difficult stores, Celso is one of the most utilized drivers in the fleet as
he constantly works 6 days a week and 12 hours a day. During the busy holiday
surge seasons, Celso adjusts his schedule to help dispatch over the higher
volume days which usually entails working both weekend days. Even when other JB
accounts need help Celso is the first one up for the job, from helping Chester
to taking a key food load for Windsor Locks into the heart of Brooklyn.
In the office Celso is a leader that
goes above and beyond when it comes to taking care of the drivers. He is more
than willing to answer his phone at midnight to help a new driver maneuver into
a store or give directions from store to store. Every week Celso always asks
his supervisors how he can do his job better or is there any new projects that
he can help with. When Newburgh has a BBQ, all the drivers ask “is Celso
cooking?”…During Driver Dedicated events, Celso is the go to chef as he mans
the grill from 0900-1900 cooking for all the drivers at the account. Even if
Newburgh does not have a BBQ, Celso brings in trays of food for the drivers,
these entrees range from hundreds of tacos to delicious chicken parm.
In the month of November,
the busiest months of the year for any C&S account Celso averages 2,100
miles/week, 12 loads/week while working 6 days/week. He puts in the hard work
while keeping pride in his truck, during all those Long Island loads during
rush hour traffic and squeezing into Bronx on Broadway, his truck is kept clean
without a scratch. Day after Day Celso is there to give a helping hand and
doing whatever it takes for the account. I can truly say Celso Leon is one of
the top notch drivers at JB Hunt and is a HUGE asset for the Newburgh account
as everyday he strives for greatness, enjoying his job day in and day out.
Congratulations to Celso !
