Please join me in congratulating John Burgees from the Baltimore Scrap location based in York Pennsylvania for being selected as the February 2020 northeast region driver of the month. John joined the J.B. Hunt team in July of 2014 and transferred to this new start up in March of 2019. As the account celebrates its one year anniversary, much of the success can be attributed to Johns outstanding support and dedication. Here is what Johns manager Mike Davenport had to say about him:
John came on board with us in our first weeks of operation and
has impressed me every day since. He brings true professional attributes to
Baltimore Scrap and genuinely cares about delivering excellence. John
recognized the need of having a quality driver trainer at the account. He
attended training shortly after transferring and is currently our lead
certified trainer. John received his 5 year patch in 2019 and was the accounts
Driver of the Month in August of last year. This is a distinction John has
received several times during his career.
John truly personifies what it is to be a champion at J.B. Hunt. This is by no means an easy job. It’s dirty, the hours are long, and the schedule is demanding. Regardless of the situation we can depend on John to not only do the right thing, but to stay late, help others, and to always go the extra mile for the customer. John remains optimistic in stressful situations and helps steer others toward that positive outlook.

John
has recently taken on the responsibility of managing the accounts shared Google
Drive where he creates yard directions and posts JSA’s and training documents.
These documents can be accessed by his peers anytime on their phones. John also
taught his first safety class to the account this month. He taught three
classes last year and his next class is planned for Q2. These are just some
examples of John going the extra mile to take care of his peers and help
reinforce our safety culture.
Congratulations John and stay safe!
