Please join me in congratulating Courtney Thomas from the Home Depot Pro New York account for being selected as the April 2014 northeast region driver of the month.
Mr Thomas joined JB Hunt in August of 2010 and lives in Jamaica New York. When selecting for this honor there are many things to be considered. The first component is safety performance. Mr Thomas has a terrific safety record and that is demonstrated by him going preventable collision free since his date of hire. Mr Thomas has never had a work related injury. As most dedicated drivers know operating in a congested area brings all sorts of additional risks. Considering that Mr Thomas operates 100% of the time in what is arguably the highest risk environment every day makes this accomplishment so impressive.
The 2nd component of this award that is considered is service. Mr Thomas has a terrific work ethic and always provides excellent customer service that goes above and beyond the normal "on time" expectation. Mr Thomas delivers to retail customers for a living. Anyone who has worked in the retail industry understands how demanding that can be. Delivering products for the Home Depot requires a level of attention to detail that cant be compromised. Mr Thomas strives to keep that customer relationship strong day in and day out which is something that not all employees can do as consistently as Mr Thomas has in the past 4 years.
The 3rd component is dedication. There are many drivers who go above and beyond every day, Mr Thomas is no different and when called upon has the right attitude. Mr Thomas will work on his scheduled day off and do it with a smile. We are lucky to have such a dedicated employee and this honor is well deserved.
For his selection Mr Thomas will receive a letter from the Vice President of operations Michael Lupo, a certificate of achievement, and $300 added to his next paycheck. In addition Mr Thomas' picture will be displayed throughout the NE region and at the DCS headquarters in Lowell Arkansas.
Mr Thomas will be eligible for the prestigious Driver of the year award along with the other winners in 2014.
